Refreshing and updating graphics for MAC makeup units destined for stores across North America. This initiative focuses on maintaining consistency across different retail environments and aligning to new visual direction by streamlining characteristics. The design also improves practicality by including a modular concept for these new units allowing flexibility in assortments for each stores’ unique needs.

Structure itself posed issues with flexibility and added costs for any gondola upgrades to product or product branding initiatives.

Graphics had issues with updating for new product launches as graphics had overwhelming and chaotic colors, direction and copy styling.

Organization and categorization of products felt confusing for consumer experience.

STRUCTURE 

First step to improving consistency to all visual merchandising across North America stores was to standardize the structures for varying product sizes, designs and assets.


STRUCTURE 

The design above allowed shelves to be displayed with identical dimensions. Acrylic molds sit to fit trapped graphics and well holes for products. Shelves themselves can be swapped and rearranged that streamlined updates and changes for new products and campaigns.




Once the modular structure was approved, the 2D flat graphics had to be updated and optimized as well through rounds of prototyping and mock ups.

Once graphics were approved, structure designs were complete and ready to launch in stores.
